Super happy with the mask and protection. Happy to wear it!

I wanted to wait to take a few hits off the mask before leaving my review. So far, no issues. Two hits in the mask so far and they seem to ricochette right off.
It is extremely light. My sweating has reduced due by 1/2 with the pads. It looks great too.

Light weight, good looking, lots of protection, & as close to a Nike Ti as a magnesium mask can get!!! I have the black one as well!!! Look, Davis is putting out some amazing products of their own. Their new product line of Davis equipment is high quality and priced just right!!!

I love the newDavis Mirage 12 mask with the Shear 3 pads. The combination is a lightweight mask that is very protective. Took a tipped ball straight off the mask and felt nothing. The shear pads conform to my face perfectly. The mask combination offers great sight lines and gives me the confidence to know that I will be protected. Very pleased with my Davis purchase!

The Davis Mirage 12 XCG Mask was better than advertised. My All-Star Magnesium leather pads fit perfectly and the yellow color of the pads matched perfectly with the matte black Davis mask. I added an All-Star harness, visor and 4 inch throat guard to compliment my new mask. Pro quality product that I recommend highly.

Great mask - light, great sightlines. Got hit with some big shots (80mph+) and it came through with flying colors! Love the deflection angles. Can't wait for the GDavis pads.

Bought this based on other recommendations posted here, so took a chance and glad I did - this mask is simply awesome. Its incredibly light, but strong. I've taken two solid shots to it off of foul balls and not a single issue with either. The Wilson foam pads that I moved over from my other mask fit great, and its really comfortable to wear. Very glad I switched to this!

Haven’t used it yet, but seems to be a solid purchase. Dight liked are great, hopefully takes the hits as well as the Allstar mask does. Anxious to see what is offered with the mask pads coming out.

I like the fit & openness to see the complete field wearing the Davis Magnesium mask. I have both the All-Star & Davis version of the Magnesium mask. I do notice that I see more with the Davis. ThankU Davis for keeping us safe!!!

Very impressed with this - super light compared to the All Star Magnesium mask. Also really like the extended throat guard.

I could not be happier with this purchase. I also have a magnesium mask from another manufacturer, but I have to wear a DTG with it. With this one, I don't have to wear a DTG and still have protection for my neck. The weight is an added bonus. It's ultralight. So far, I love it. It's my #1.

Buy this mask! Best I have ever owned/used - lightest, sturdiest, absolutely best sight lines, and a great added feature in the extended throat guard.

The Mirage 12 frame has great vision (better than Nike) and is light as well. This is now my go to mask.

Buy this mask. As other reviewers have said, it's as light or lighter than any on the market, the sight lines are remarkable, both straight ahead and peripherally, and the extended throat guard is effective and convenient. It's also very tough and structurally sound - direct hits won't come close to denting or scraping it. Can't wait to try the mask pads that go with it when they come out, but other pads (like TW's) fit like a glove. I usually swap off between a Wilson aluminum and +POS Zero G, but doubt I'll be doing that now that I have the Mirage. It's that good.

I had used a Wilson Aluminum for the past 4 years, I bought second-hand, and finally decided this year I needed to upgrade to a higher level of baseball. I first tried out the All-Star Mag, which I loved the feel of, but not the sightlines, as the mask protrudes away from your face by a few more inches than the traditional style. This mask gives you the best of both worlds: great sightlines while being ultra-lightweight. Even better is that it has such a low chance of bending or breaking, unlike Titanium, Steel, and Aluminum masks. You can tell there was a lot of R&D into this, which I believe will make it a great investment for many years to come.

Fantastic work by the Davis design team utilizing the most advanced alloys available, while also incorporating feedback from real, expert umpires that work hundreds of games per year and understanding that quality umpiring requires specific equipment features!!

Been wearing the Mirage for about 3 weeks now, using the All Star Mag pads.
1. Lightweight. Have been wearing the AS Mag for the past few years (i own 3) and The Mirage has me leaving the Mag in the bag.
2. The "vision window" is unparalleled. Settle in to your stance behind F2 and without moving your head, 1st and 3rd base are in full view. Got a coach you need to keep an eye on, he is in view.
3. Durability- took 90+ one hop that was uncaught, didn't feel a thing.
4. Built in throat guard. I'm not a TG guy, so having the TG built in and not dangling was huge for me.
Spend the money and invest in a Mirage. You only have one face........

Seven games behind home plate is all I need to rate the new Davis Mirage 12 a 12/10.

This mask is incredible all the way around.

Starting with the weight, I put it on the scale and the Mirage 12 is just shy of being a full three ounces lighter than my trusty Wilson Dyna-Lite. Over the course of a five game Saturday, that weight savings can make a huge difference.

The biggest difference between the Mirage 12 and the Wilson mask frame is field of vision. I feel like I went from looking through the peep hole of a Sherman tank to watching a movie in IMAX, and we're talking the real deal 70mm IMAX - not the smaller IMAX branded screens that have film nerds screaming LIEMAX on the internet. On both 60 and 90 feet bases, I can now see the entire infield while looking straight ahead to the pitcher. With the Dyna-Lite, both third and first were completely obscured by the bars of the mask. As an umpire who frequently works alone due to the great umpire shortage, I can't tell you how clutch the enhanced vision is for those coaches to love to complain about runners leaving early. On top of that, now seeing the whole field (and maybe this is just psychological) has me feeling like I leveled up in that Neo has become one with the Matrix kind of way. Suddenly, the game feels like it's moving a lot slower and I'm much more relaxed because I don't have to dart my eyes and head around the diamond before every pitch when runners are on-base.

The memory foam pads and harness from my Dyna-Lite fit perfect in the Mirage 12. I plan to upgrade to the Davis pads when they're available. One thing I did with my harness was hook it up to middle bar between the mask frame and the outer-most bar of the ear guard. I did this because it opened up the field of view just a tiny bit more. For me anyway, I could see the harness straps in my peripheral vision when they were installed on the interior of the mask frame.

Safety-wise, in those first seven games, I've taken a couple of really hard foul balls (one was hard enough that even the parents who hate me shrieked in horror) and came away completely un-concussed and unbothered. I fully trust the Mirage 12.

For reference, I'm currently umpiring Little League Minors on up to JV in pretty high level leagues in Southern California.
