One of sixty made. The DX Kuta is a limited version of the DX line featuring our engineered Covalta foam. A cross-linked closed cell foam designed for dispersing high energy, localized impacts. Using just 12mm of Covalta it provides protection that traditional foams need 24mm or more to match.

We tested Covalta for over 24 months. It already reinforces critical zones like the chest and collarbone in the DX Mk2. The DX Kuta and future products will be built entirely around it.

3mm HDPE hard plates distribute impact across the surface before energy reaches you. Heat the plates and shape them yourself for a customized fit that matches your body.

Flat shoulders create clean lines. Body-conforming construction that moves with every stance adjustment.

Warranty

Our 1-Year limited warranty protects against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials for our protective equipment. This includes defects that emerge through normal use within one year of purchase, such as structural integrity issues, padding deterioration, or material failure without excessive wear.

If a manufacturing defect appears, we'll repair or replace your product at our discretion. For minor issues, we may offer store credit. This warranty requires proof of purchase and applies to genuine Davis protective equipment used as intended with proper care.

Normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, and alterations are not covered under this warranty. Any modifications to the product will void this warranty. Additionally, excessive wear, abuse, or use outside of intended purpose will void this warranty.

⚠️ Safety Information

This product uses foam technologies that are temperature sensitive. Below 60°F ambient temperature, these materials become increasingly rigid and lose their impact-absorbing properties. In this state, the progressive compression system cannot function as designed, potentially resulting in higher impact forces being transmitted through the padding. For your safety and optimal protection performance, do not uses the DX Kuta when air temperatures drops below 60°F.

For this technology to work effectively, the chest protector must be worn tightly and snugly against the body. A loose or improperly fitted protector may create air gaps—spaces between the protector and your body—that significantly reduce the product’s ability to absorb and spread impact energy. In these cases, the material may stiffen before making full contact with the body, causing it to behave more like a hard object striking the body rather than cushioning the blow. This can lead to greater localized force and a higher risk of injury. Additionally, a poor fit may expose areas that were intended to be protected.

For your safety, always ensure the chest protector is correctly fitted and adjusted before each use. No protective equipment can eliminate all risk of injury, and this product should be inspected regularly and discontinued if damaged or worn.

I have used my west vest gold for awhile now. I purchased the DX Kuta LE because it looked more form fitting. After comparing both and using both this season the DX is definitely more comfortable. The west vest feels like it has more protection, but I no longer do college baseball, The DX has more than enough protection for the level of baseball I do now. I would purchase again.

I purchased the Kuta a month or so ago, I've worn it 6 times.

Superior protection, really outstanding, I took 2 shots to the sternum and lower neck areas, absolutely no ill effects. I do find the CP to be very hot to work in though.

what is the size measuring of 12" and 14"?

The size measures the vertical distance between neckline and bottom of the chest protector. This measurement would be a dead center, vertical meaurement to determine the amount of coverage needed. We recommend measuring from your neck to a point 2-3 inches above the navel for optimal fit ensuring full ribcage coverage.
