Not all masks let you see the same game. The Mirage 12 XCG opens your field of vision wider than any mask on the market. Rounded frame geometry positions bars outside your natural sight lines. Flat bar profiles reduce obstruction further. First to third. Every runner. No head movement required.

Injection-molded magnesium makes this possible. A single piece. No welds. Precise geometry that steel, aluminum and titanium frames can't achieve. When you do take a shot, magnesium reduces force transmission better than rigid metals. And unlike steel that bends or aluminum that fails under stress, magnesium holds its geometry. The XCG chin guard is built into the frame. Longer than competing designs. No dangling throat guard to manage.

The Tango2 pad cores in the modular pad system completes the mask. Pad socks provide the structural interface. When mask bars take impact, molded EVA in the sock expands the contact area. Inside the core, the HDPE load distribution plate spreads it further. Then two impedance-matched layers manage deceleration: medium-firm EVA provides structural stability and initial force spreading, medium-density VPU continues the timeline with controlled compression. The transition between matched densities allows smooth force transmission without the spike that occurs when mismatched materials meet.

When fabric wears from seasons of use, replace the socks. Not the cores.

Installation:

  1. Insert Tango2 pad cores into pad socks. Ensure core orientation matches markings.
  2. Close zippers completely and secure zipper handles.

Warranty

Our 1-Year limited warranty protects against manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials for our protective equipment. This includes defects that emerge through normal use within one year of purchase, such as structural integrity issues, padding deterioration, or material failure without excessive wear.

If a manufacturing defect appears, we'll repair or replace your product at our discretion. For minor issues, we may offer store credit. This warranty requires proof of purchase and applies to genuine Davis protective equipment used as intended with proper care.

Normal wear and tear, misuse, accidents, and alterations are not covered under this warranty. Any modifications to the product will void this warranty. Additionally, excessive wear, abuse, or use outside of intended purpose will void this warranty.

⚠️ Safety Information

Ambient Temperature Sensitive

This product uses viscoelastic foam technologies that are temperature sensitive. Below 65°F ambient temperature, these materials become increasingly rigid and lose their impact-absorbing properties. In this state, the progressive compression system cannot function as designed, potentially resulting in higher impact forces being transmitted through the padding. For your safety and optimal protection performance, do not uses the these pad cores when air temperatures drops below 60°F. For ambient temperatures below 65°F consider the Davis D3O® Cloud4 Umpire Mask Pad Cores.

Storage

For longest product life, do not store pad cores in freezing temperatures. For end of season or long-term storage, store cores at room temperature.

Replacement

Replace pad cores if the tricot polyester cover is worn through or damaged. For best performance, replace cores every 3-6 years depending on frequency of use, storage conditions, and impact exposure.
